Nou Camp

A huge stadium that holds currently 100,000. To be honest I was disappointed with the stadium. Maybe my expectations were too high.
Essentially it is a huge oval shaped stadium where the tiers of seats just carry on getting higher and higher. To some strange extent you seem to actually lose some of the atmosphere in the ground when the stands are so high that you cannot see anything else other than tiers of seats.
The ground is essentially all uncovered apart from one area at the side of the pitch that includes the directors boxes and corporate areas. The other ground in Barcelona ( the Olympic Stadium from 1992 ) where Espanyol play has a far greater atmosphere and presence. For those who are interested the Barcelona reserve ( or B Team as it is officially called) has its own 16,000 capacity stadium next to the Nou Camp. They play in Division 2.
