As of early 2002 the ground is undergoing complete renovation. What you can see in the photos is that half of the ground has been renovated or rebuilt and the other half has not. There currently is one huge L shaped stand that extends along the pitch and behind a goal. At the other end there is a very old mainly wooden stand with terracing space below and covered terracing alongside the other side of the pitch. Nowhere in the world have I come across such a contrast of old and new, and I prefer old. Sure, the new stands are good, comfortable and clean, but I could show you 20 other stands and you would not know which ground it was. Whereas if I showed you the old side of the ground you would know instantly. Put simply, another piece of the football fabric character has gone.
