Deva Stadium |
Chester moved here from their old Sealand road ground around 10 years ago. This is not a bad ground. There is a good atmosphere here and decent parking. Unless they got drawn against Manchester United there is plentiful parking around the edge of the ground in the club car park. The ground is though effectively outside of the town and one should allow enough time to get there. Escaping from the car park after the game may also take some time. Despite being a small modern box type ground it somehow retains some degree of individuality. Maybe I am biased as Brentford won 3-1 here in their promotion season a few years ago and children were only charged £2 admission! Chester have had a tough few years and have almost gone out of existence a few times. As I write this they are top of the conference in April 2004 and looking like returning to the league with crowds that rarely go below 3500. click picture to enlarge |
