Selhurst Park

As I write this in Feb 2003 Wimbledon remain tenants here but are due to move out by the end of the 2002-3 season at the latest. There are two sets of photos here. The floodlight set were from a decent Palace vs Tranmere league cup game 2 seasons ago. The daytime set were taken from Wimbledon vs Notts forest in Feb 2003. Each was taken from opposite sides of the ground. The crowd at the wimbledon game was around 3000 which actually represented one of their highest crowds of the season. The atmosphere was unusual to say the least. The ground has four rather different stands. Behind one goal there is a newish 2-tiered stand rather impressive. Behind the other goal is a smaller single tier stand that houses various corporate boxes. On each side of the ground are older main stands. Very few clubs seem to have been associated with the controversy that surrounded palace and their tenants, Wimbledon, over the last 3 years. The ground however is a decent one that is easy to get to by public transport but a nightmare by car. Always a good atmosphere there even when only 3000 were inside.
