The history of Doncaster is too complex to go into here. Suffice it to say that rogue elements of the club were convicted of trying to burn down the ground and around that time the club lost its league status and wallowed in the conference for many years. In 2003 league football returned to Doncaster and with it crowds have risen
massiveley. The ground itself lies opposite the racecourse and surrounded on all other three sides by apparent industrial wasteland. A reasonable sized car park allows close parking to the ground. The ground itself is a simple affair to describe. A small old - fashioned ( some might say rickety) stand with terracing to both sides and in front of it. Behind both goals is uncovered terracing with covered terracing along the other side of the pitch. In this day and age in all honesty this is not one of the better grounds and indeed is of modest standards. Somehow I doubt if this matters to the fans.
Personally it is a long time ago that I saw a game here and that game ended Doncaster 4 Brentford 4. However when you consider that Doncaster were leading 4-0..............
