Merland Rise

One of the more curious grounds that you will visit in the upper echelons of non-league football. Essentially there are a handful of seats in the middle of the only covered stand on the ground that I guess one would refer to as the main stand. The remainder of the ground is simple concrete type terracing on 3 sides. The flats that overlook the dugouts have maybe a better view than any of those who have paid to get in. The ground is in fact very difficult to find even after the floodlights have been identified. I was assured by the groundsman that the ground has provisional grading as conference standard assuming that a few modifications were made if promotion was achieved. For me this is quite an interesting little ground because it has none of the comforts of some of the newer grounds at this level (Dulwich Hamlet or the new Tooting and Mitcham ground for example). However the ground meets the needs adequately for the numbers of supporters that will attend.
In terms of the other Rymans premier teams this ground is one of the less excellent ones.
