Boothferry Park

These photos were taken about 4 home games before the club is due to move to a 25,000 all-seater stadium. the ground looks tired and old and maybe dilapidated. The club have had all sorts of financial problems with a multitude of dubious owners ( in the eyes of the fans). The ground has not changed much from even 20 years ago when I last saw a game here v Brentford. The main stand runs alongside the pitch and opposite is covered terracing some areas of which have been long ago closed. Behind one goal ( where they have built a supermarket) there is a small area of terracing and behind the other goal is an old fashioned large terrace of the kind often seen years ago in lower division clubs. Somehow for no tangible reason the pitch seems a long way from the stands. I met with the ground manager (John Cooper) and thoroughly enjoyed a conversation about Hull city and football in general.
