A real gem of a ground. Two things help when photographing football grounds. Firstly the ability to look all around a ground on a non-match day. Secondly when the light is good. Here I was lucky on both counts.
There is a curious high main stand which dominates the ground. As one walks around there are a number of curious structures within the ground as well! A large corrugated iron tunnel shaped building and in the corner of the car park behind one goal is the local branch of the sub-aqua club! Nothing much behind this goal otherwise apart from the clubhouse in the corner. A covered stand covers around a third of the side opposite the main stand. Behind the other goal is a cover that appears to be held up by scaffolding with netting either side to catch errant shots with open terracing to the sides. Next to the stand is an area of uncovered terrace.
For season 2004-5 the team play in the Southern League (or Doc Martens) in the regional divisions below the premier.
