The Lamb Ground

One of the relatively smaller conference grounds for season 2004-5. However a decent capacity at 3,410 which covers most eventualities bars a visit from a large club in a cup competition.
The ground is situated on the outskirts of Tamworth but seems to have only been well signposted as one approaches it from one direction. I needed some luck to find it.
A modern main stand dominates the ground with a long but small covered terrace stand opposite. Behind one goal there is only open terracing with the industrial and commercial sites clearly behind. Behind the other goal was a small covered stand that rather curiously is brick built with dividing sections with the usual metal roof.
A neat albeit small ground. The only other historical note is that the floodlights originally came from Scarborough’s ground.
In 2004-5 the club play in the Nationwide Conference.
