One of those nice days when I get to see a non-league game on a
Ssaturday as the Brentford game was called off. In fact most local games were called off hence a crowd of about double that expected - 307 to be precise.
The ground is in Windsor Great Park , I think. Certainly there is a sign outside the ground to announce that you are in the park. No sign of the patron Prince Phillip today though.
This is a ground that is nicely enclosed by wooden fencing and not metal. The ground is surrounded by trees, houses and a church spire.
On one side there is a main stand that holds about 300 with terracing to either side and this is where most people are found. Behind each goal there are about 3-4 rows of terracing with a covered terrace running along the whole of the other side of the pitch. The pitch is surrounded by a metal fence with concrete walkways all around.
I really enjoyed my visit and the game. They beat Thame Utd in a 3rd round FA trophy game 3-2. This is real football. Park at the ground for about 50 cars. Pay sensible prices for tea and burgers. This is real football. I shall be back. The light was not kind to me today and on a future visit I will improve some of these photos.
The club as of 2002-3 season are doing well and should finish in the top 6 in Rymans Division 1 south.
